EasyDisk offers two
great ways to protect your data.
Write Protect Switch
The 1st is the super easy traditional
write protect switch. Just like floppy disks
and zip disks, the EasyDisk has a small switch
that locks and unlocks the EasyDisk write capabilities.
When the switch is moved over to the "Locked"
position, data can only be read and not written.
This is great when sharing your EasyDisk with
others. This will prevent any accidental loss
of data.
Password Security
The 2nd security feature will work only with
Windows users.
Warning - this
procedure will erase any data on your EasyDisk.
Please backup your vital data before following
these steps.
How to enable password protection
feature
Insert the EasyDisk driver CD the EasyDisk.
Explore the Driver CD, go to "Utility"
folder, double click the "UDReset"
file, type "Y", then type any key
to close the window. Unplug EasyDisk, then plug
it back in. Go to the "Utility" folder
again, double click "Mformat", check
"Quick Format" and select the "Enable
Security" box.
 |
Format the drive. Unplug it,
when you plug it back in again, a key icon "passed"
will appear when you access your EasyDisk, double
click it and key in the default password "1111",
then you can start to read or write on EasyDisk.
Each time you use your EasyDisk,
you will need to run the PASSID software to
unlock your data.
You can change the password
as often as you please, but please make sure
to memorize your new password. For any reason
if you forget your new password, you have to
repeat the above process to format your EasyDisk
again, and as a result all files you have saved
on EasyDisk previously will be erased completely.
How to disable password protection
feature
Repeat the above procedure, and uncheck
the "Enable Security" box before formatting.
With these two great security features, you
know that your data will always be safe and
secure.
