EasyDisk can be formatted
to be bootable. This is great for the IT Professional
/ MIS person that needs to add software, trouble
shoot systems or update firmware, bios, or system
files.
How to make your EasyDisk Bootable:
Warning
- this procedure will erase any data on your
EasyDisk. Please backup your vital data before
following these steps. You can only make
an EasyDisk bootable in Windows 98SE or ME.
Windows 2000 and XP do not support making bootable
disks.
Using the Utilities provided on your EasyDisk
Driver CD, simply run the MFormat.exe program.
The software will recognize your EasyDisk and
give you the option of how to format it. Simply
select "Quick Format" and the "Bootable"
options. Your EasyDisk will be formatted so
that you can boot from it.

This feature will not work
for Mac users. Your motherboard bios will also
need to have the ability to boot from an external
USB device. The majority of motherboards made
today will support this feature. EasyDisk comes
with optional bootable feature for Windows users
so that they can use it as a bootable drive
just like a floppy drive or hard drive.
How to disable the
bootable feature:
Repeat above format procedure, and
uncheck the "Bootable" box before
formatting.
